Prof. Rutembesa

Dr. Rutembesa is a PhD graduate of University Saint Denis (Paris 8) in clinical psychology and psychopathology. Since 2004, he has conducted several researches on resilience related to the survivors and ex perpetrators of the genocide of 1994 against Tutsi in Rwanda.
He is a member of the International Forum of the Researchers interested in resilience across cultures and Head of Research of East Africa Career Development Association (EACDA).

Since 2006, he has provided supervision and training for Rwandan professionals working at local associations and international NGO's like Ibuka, Avega-Agahozo, DiDé (DIgnité en Détention), Never Again, Humanitarian Inclusive (HI), Health Development Initiative (HDI), International Alert, ARCT- Ruhuka.

Dr. Rutembesa is Associate Professor of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapies within the Department of Clinical Psychology (Faculty of Medicine) at University of Rwanda. He has occupied several functions: HoD of Department (2001-2004); Dean of the Faculty of Education (2005-2009); Coordinator of the University Center of Mental Health (CUNISAM); Vice Chair of Rwanda National Ethic Committee (2009-2019). Since March 2020 Chairperson of the Board of DIDE/RWANDA.
